Renesas to acquire Transphorm to expand its power portfolio with gallium nitride technology
The acquisition accelerates Renesas’ wide bandgap expertise and roadmap to fast-growing market opportunities for EVs
Renesas Electronics Corp. and Transphorm, a supplier of gallium nitride (GaN) power semiconductors, announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement pursuant to which a subsidiary of Renesas will acquire all outstanding shares of Transphorm’s common stock for $5.10 per share in cash, according to a press release on Jan. 11.
