An evolving technology promises safer and easier driving with the potential to replace conventional displays.

After decades of slower adoption, head-up displays (HUDs) are now gaining polarity in cars. Factors such as the increasing implementation of human-machine interaction (HMI), the proliferation of digital and connected technologies, and new electric vehicle cockpits that are far more advanced and primarily led by software are the key enablers. Besides, once only restricted to premium and luxury cars, the market growth of HUDs was bolstered by the removal of three main factors — cost, size and end-user value.
