Continental to spin off user experience vertical: A precursor to wider industry consolidation?

As the German technology leader ties its future growth to software-defined vehicles in a strategic shift, an independent unit with a predominantly hardware-focused vertical would serve it well.

On Dec. 4, 2023, at its annual capital market day, Continental informed investors of its intention to carve off its Automotive User Experience (UX) business into an independent unit to explore new strategic options for its Displays and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) Control business. The UX vertical, which comprises display solutions, head-up displays (HUDs) and digital instrument clusters, is a highly attractive business with a stronger order pipeline.
