The patent involves the use of rare earth-based cerium oxide materials in automotive catalysts used for NOx emission reduction

Belgian chemical company Solvay announced via press release on 19 January that the Higher Regional Court Karlsruhe, Germany had decided to confirm an earlier judgment on a patent infringement case it had filed against European chemical company Neo Chemicals.
