New innovations in door solutions
Development of smart surfaces, materials and integration of digital technology, is transforming door trim panels toward becoming an informative and communicative component
Responsible for a number of vital interior functions, including occupant protection, curbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) levels, and functioning as a casing for door elements, the door trim panel of today has gone through a substantial evolution over the years. As an intrinsic component of the cockpit, door trim panels further provide an overarching layer of functionality and design to the evolving car interiors of today. Over the years, their development has seen tremendous change in manufacturing processes, design, content, and materials. The stimuli for these changes include weight saving goals of OEMs, packaging demands of ever increasing content, and increasingly complex design derived from consumer demand for more luxurious, feature-rich interiors.
