Daimler, Bury, ask EU antitrust regulators to probe Nokia patents to car communications

German electronics firm BURY has asked European Union (EU) antitrust regulators to investigate Nokia’s licensing practice on patents related to car communications, Reuters reported on 9 April. “Nokia refuses to license mobile components. Instead, Nokia insists on indirect licensing of the entire vehicle,” BURY said in a statement. “Nokia does not own a vehicle-oriented standard essential patent. Therefore, Nokia cannot demand indirect licensing of the entire vehicle,” the company said.
