Synergy between component suppliers is not a new practice when it comes to the global automotive supply chain. The automotive component industry has witnessed a number of collaborations between suppliers working in tandem to create solutions for a better business outlook. Especially within the interior sector, the practice of joint development has been an ongoing exercise since most of interior suppliers in the past aimed to venture into multiple product lines to become a “one-stop shop” for OEMs. While some took the acquisition route, others were more inclined toward joint ventures.
