Changing Display Trends - Automotive Instrument Clusters and HUDs

As is the case with a rear view camera or with Bluetooth, the importance of the instrument cluster display becomes clear only when you get used to it and then take it away. The cluster is increasingly housing the primary display of the vehicle, and this trend will only expand with models that do not offer a head-up display. Head-up displays arguably present more opportunity for innovation in this space. In the end, putting information in front of the driver, in an efficient manner, is at the top of the list of automotive designer’s priorities, and new display clusters and HUDs are leading this innovation track.
