A round-up of the major announcements at this year’s Consumer Electronics show, including interviews with key developers at Ford and Mercedes Benz

The annual Consumer Electronics Show took place in Las Vegas in January, with SupplierBusiness in attendance. With 2700 exhibitors and 130,000 vistors, the show presented many new technologies and products in a year which could see global consumer electronics sales rising 10% to top $1 trillion.Key trends at the show were increasingly connected mobile devices, many personalised or directed to niche applications.  The show was dominated by automotive announcements, smartphone innovation, some 4G smartphones, Android 3.0, 72-inch 3D TVs, and tablet pc’s in many form factors.
