Automakers are offering new interior features that can be operated with just the push of a button, thanks to the growing use of motorized interior parts.

Automakers are counting on electric motors, which convert electrical energy into mechanical energy by applying the principle of electromagnetism, for supporting various functions in vehicles, ranging from chassis and safety to powertrain to interior systems. In the automotive interior, electric motors have been used for enabling comfortable seating, opening/closing of sunroofs, rolling up/down of door windows and for locking/unlocking of doors. In addition, electric motors are integral to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, powering fans that circulate air, as well as actuators that control airflow and temperature settings.
