In November 2022, Panasonic had signed a similar deal with the US battery recycling company Redwood Materials

Japanese battery maker Panasonic Energy Company Ltd. has launched a recycling initiative for nickel used in the lithium-ion battery cathode materials in collaboration with Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd., a leading Japanese non-ferrous metal smelting and refining and cathode material manufacturer, Panasonic announced on March 31.
