LG Energy Solution acquires full ownership of Michigan EV battery plant
Taking over General Motors's stake, LGES now fully owns the $2.5 billion facility, aiming for 1,700 jobs and praising Michigan's strategic value
LG Energy Solution (LGES) has assumed full ownership and control of the $2.5 billion electric vehicle (EV) battery plant located in Lansing and Delta Township, Michigan, following the acquisition of General Motors's interest in the project. This transition was facilitated by the Michigan Strategic Fund Board, which approved amendments transferring a $120 million performance-based grant originally designated for Ultium Cells LLC to LGES.
