The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has initiated a preliminary investigation into nearly 1.3 million Ford F-150 pickup trucks over reports of unexpected gear downshift accompanied by a temporary rear-wheel lockup, Detroit Free Press reported March 24.
