Technology Trends

While most automakers are counting on their supplier partners to increase use of recycled and recyclable materials in interior trims, some are directly teaming up with companies, including startups, in developing such sustainable solutions.

Sustainability is transforming almost every industry around the world, including the automotive industry. Several automakers have set targets to achieve net carbon neutrality over the next 15-20 years. Stellantis plans to reach this goal by 2038; Mercedes-Benz in 2039; General Motors and Renault Group in 2040, Hyundai Motor Group in 2045; and BMW, Ford, Honda, Nissan, Suzuki, Toyota and the Volkswagen Group in 2050.
