This series of recalls underscores Tesla's ongoing challenges with vehicle software issues in the Chinese market, although the company is addressing these issues efficiently through over-the-air updates and replacements where necessary

Tesla is conducting a significant recall of over 1.2 million vehicles in China due to software issues, as announced on the State Administration for Market Regulation's website. The recall affects 335,716 imported Model S, Model X, and locally produced Model 3 and Model Y vehicles manufactured between July 16, 2023, and December 14, 2024. The issue identified involves a reverse current damaging the power supply component on the vehicle's computer main board, potentially leading to the rearview camera's improper functioning. This defect could obstruct the driver's view while reversing, increasing the risk of a crash. Tesla has committed to fixing the issue through an over-the-air (OTA) software update to version 2024.44.25.3 or later at no cost, or by replacing the vehicle's computer for those that cannot be updated remotely.
