The new radar MMIC by Infineon aims to enhance pedestrian detection in urban areas, promising improvements in automated driving systems

In a press release on Dec. 18,  Infineon Technologies has unveiled the final samples of its innovative RASIC™ CTRX8191F radar MMIC tailored for the evolving demands of automated and autonomous driving. The 28nm radar MMIC is engineered to bridge the current technological gap in detecting pedestrians within cluttered urban settings, a critical requirement for achieving SAE-defined L2+ to L4 autonomous driving levels.
