Tier IV achieves Level 4 autonomy certification in Japan
The certification allows an autonomous bus service in Shiojiri, Nagano Prefecture, to operate at speeds up to 35 km/h on public roads
According to a press release on Oct. 31, Tokyo-based Tier IV has obtained Level 4 certification for its AI Pilot2 system, marking a first in Japan.
