Wolfspeed secures up to $2.5 billion for US silicon carbide production
The partnerships and funding aim to expand Wolfspeed's US manufacturing of key semiconductor material
According to a press release on Oct. 15, the US Commerce Department, along with Wolfspeed, has announced a non-binding preliminary memorandum of terms (PMT) for up to $750 million in direct funding under the CHIPS and Science Act.
