Northvolt plans to suspend the capacity expansion project at its Skellefteå unit
As part of its strategic review amid the global slowdown in the demand for battery-electric vehicles (BEVs), Swedish battery-maker Northvolt plans to cut approximately 1,600 jobs across its Skellefteå (1,000 positions), Västerås (400 positions) and Stockholm (200 positions) operations in Sweden, the company announced Sept. 23.
