Toyota's ambition with this technology is to streamline the production of the LF-ZC, an innovative EV model under the Lexus brand slated for a 2026 launch, by gigacasting its front and rear sections.

Toyota Motor has announced plans to introduce a gigacasting machine at its plant in Aichi prefecture, Japan, potentially within the year. This machinery, one of the largest of its kind in the country, will exert up to 9,000 tonnes of clamping pressure, a capacity that outstrips the typical gigacasting machine's force of at least 6,000 tonnes.
