South Korean carmaker Hyundai Motor Group plans to develop a next-generation range-extending powertrain for its pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles (SUVs) amid a global slowdown in the demand for electric vehicles, according to a news report published by The Korea Economic Daily on Aug. 13.
