Cruise to focus on next-gen Chevrolet Bolt after scrapping plans to build the Origin driverless vehicles, simplifying its scale-up process and reducing costs

General Motors' autonomous driving subsidiary, Cruise, has decided to not go ahead with the plans to build the Origin, a purpose-built vehicle designed with no conventional steering wheel or pedals, for use in robo-taxi services, TechCrunch reported July 23.
