Renesas completes acquisition of Transphorm to enhance power semiconductor offerings
Renesas announced its plans to acquire Transphorm in January.
Renesas Electronics has completed the previously announced acquisition of Transphorm, a US-based company specializing in gallium nitride (GaN) power semiconductors, the Japanese supplier said in a press release June 20. The acquisition allows Renesas to expand its offerings to include GaN-based power products and related reference designs, responding to the increasing demand for wide bandgap semiconductor products.
