Volvo to launch hydrogen-powered combustion engine trucks
Volvo Group has entered into a joint venture agreement with Westport Fuel Systems for high pressure direct injection (HPDI) technology used in the trucks.
In a press release dated May 23, Volvo Trucks announced that it is developing trucks with combustion engines that run on hydrogen. The truck maker is aiming to commence on-road trials of the trucks by 2026, with a full commercial launch expected by the end of the decade.
