Isuzu Motors invests $30 million in Gatik, aims to launch autonomous commercial vehicle business by 2027
Isuzu and Gatik to strengthen development of autonomous driving in North America. The partnership aims to solve driver shortage issues and increase delivery services through mass production of SAE Level 4 autonomous trucks
Isuzu Motors Limited and Gatik AI, Inc. have agreed to bolster the development of autonomous driving business in North America, with Isuzu investing $30 million in Gatik. The partnership will focus on the development of middle mile autonomous driving and will work on the design and development of a new chassis that ensures safety with an autonomous driving system. Isuzu aims to launch a Level 4 autonomous commercial vehicle business in 2027, a commitment made as part of its midterm business plan, "ISUZU Transformation - Growth to 2030 (IX)," which includes the establishment of business pillars focused on autonomous driving solutions, connected services and carbon neutral solutions.
