Tesla's recent challenges and strategic moves have left many puzzled. Since losing its leading electric vehicle sales position to BYD in Q4 2023 it has experienced a number of travails. Amid reports of its lower-cost car being canceled and workforce cuts, the company has set the rumor mill turning again with the announcement of the robotaxi's unveiling on August 8.
