AVL List GmbH has emerged as the top inventor in Austria for the second consecutive year, with 21 new patent applications in the fields of sustainable mobility and stationary technologies. The company, based in Graz, holds two-thirds of the patents filed in 2023, with a significant portion of the applications related to fuel cell and electrolysis innovations.

According to Helmut List, chairman and CEO of AVL, the company's innovative strength lies in its employees, who are constantly developing new and sustainable innovations for climate-neutral mobility. AVL takes an open-source approach to technology, utilizing all available solutions to reduce CO2 emissions efficiently. The company has invested over 10% of its turnover in research in 2023.

Mario Hartinger, head of intellectual property at AVL, emphasizes the company's pride in leading Austria's most innovative companies, with over 200 patents registered for the first time. AVL's inventions focus on the future topics of sustainable mobility, paving the way for a climate-neutral world.
