Ferroglobe, Coreshell sign MOU to deliver battery-grade metallurgical silicon for EV batteries
The collaboration between Ferroglobe and Coreshell is expected to enable the leapfrogging of silane-based silicon in EV batteries
Ferroglobe PLC, a world-leading producer of silicon metal and ferroalloys, and Coreshell, a US-based battery technology company, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly produce the first battery-ready metallurgical silicon for the development of low-cost, high-range electric vehicle batteries in compliance with the US Inflation Reduction Act, Ferroglobe said March 11.
