Ionna plans to build a minimum of 30,000 EV chargers with the first charging stations expected to open in the US in 2024, followed by Canada

Ionna, the joint venture formed by seven leading carmakers such as BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz and Stellantis to focus on building one of the largest fast charging networks across North America last year, has finally received the necessary approvals from the regulatory authorities to commence operations, the charge point operator announced Feb. 9.
