Apple's testing has been largely incident-free, according to publicly disclosed data, as the company is still only allowed to test its cars with a human driver

Apple is quietly ramping up its autonomous ambitions in California, US, with the company's cars tested over 450,000 miles in the state between December 2022 and November 2023, a number that more than tripled from the year before and was the biggest jump among companies with the most testing in the state, according to a report published by The Washington Post on Feb. 6.
