According to a press release on Jan. 2, Lidwave has introduced a new 4D sensor that harnesses light properties to extract depth information with instantaneous velocity information. The MonoStaticOne sensor is now available for simulation on Cognata's perception hub, which runs on Microsoft Azure and utilizes AMD processors and graphics processing units (GPUs). This allows automotive developers, integrators and original equipment manufacturers to experience the advantages of Lidwave's 4D sensor over traditional lidar and radar systems.

The proprietary finite coherent ranging (FCR) technology provides a complete understanding of scene dynamics without additional complex computation or post-processing. The sensor streams real-time, high-quality raw data of range, reflectivity and instantaneous velocity (Doppler) per pixel.

Cognata's ADPH platform incorporates accurate sensor modeling, manufacturer-approved, with a wide spectrum of sensors, including RGB cameras, point-cloud (lidar) systems and thermal cameras (IR). The platform demonstrates the integration of Lidwave's 4D lidar in different safety scenes and unique edge cases, its capability to sense the road surface over long distances, and more.
