Wireless EV charging: Anywhere close to taking off?
The wireless EV charging space has seen a flurry of activities in the last couple of years, especially dynamic charging, which indicates a growing confidence in the technology.
In mid-October, Nikkei reported that Japanese city Kashiwa is testing a technology that will allow electric vehicles (EV) to recharge wirelessly while being driven on public roads. Japan has joined a growing list of countries in Europe, mainland China and North America, where such projects are underway to gauge the safety, reliability and commercialization aspects of the technology.
