GM plans to manufacture approximately 500 Origin self-driving EVs for the launch of this new JV in Japan at its Factory Zero in Detroit

General Motors, Cruise and Honda have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to set up a new joint venture company to launch a driverless ride-hail service in Japan starting in early 2026, GM announced October 18.
