Honda and GS Yuasa plan $3 billion investment to build battery-cell plant in Japan
In the first phase, both companies aim to build a domestic (Li-ion) battery factory with a target capacity of more than 20 GWh
Honda Motor and Japanese battery-maker GS Yuasa will set up a joint venture this 2023 and committed an investment of ¥400 billion (about $2.99 billion) to develop and mass-produce cells for electric vehicles (EVs) and homes in Japan, Nikkei Asia reported on April 28.
