Mitsubishi Electric to build new plant in Japan to expand semiconductor production
The plant will cater to the fast-growing demand for EVs
Mitsubishi Electric Corporation announced that it will double a previously-announced investment plan to approximately 260 billion yen (USD2.6 billion) in the five years to March 2026 mainly for constructing a new wafer plant to increase production of Silicon Carbide (SiC) power semiconductors, according to a company press release dated 14 March.
