The tracking technology involves adding an invisible label to latex whose information can eventually be retrieved from the tire using a purpose-built reader

German tire manufacturer Continental announced via press release on 7 December that it had, in partnership with Melbourne-based blockchain technology company Security Matters (SMX), succeeded in verifying the application of a invisible marker for tracking the supply chain of the natural rubber in a tire.
