CATL aims at leadership position in China’s emerging BaaS market
The BaaS model allows EV drivers to rent and swap batteries under a subscription pricing model
China’s largest battery maker Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL) is stepping up preparations to launch battery rental services for EVs with the aim to become a leader in the emerging battery-as-a-service (BaaS) segment, according to a report published by news agency Nikkei Asia on 22 August 2022.
