Honda – LG Energy Solution JV to produce lithium-ion batteries in the US
Honda and LG Energy Solutions plan to set up a joint venture company in the US and will invest USD4.4 billion to set up a 40GWh battery plant for the North American market
South Korean battery maker LG Energy Solution and Japanese carmaker Honda Motor Company Ltd. have agreed to establish a joint venture (JV) company to produce lithium-ion batteries in the US, the two companies said in a joint announcement on 29 August 2022. According to the companies, the JV will focus on producing batteries for Honda and Acura EV models for the North American market.
