Bridgestone to commercialize guayule-derived tire rubber with USD42 million investment

Commercialization of the program will allow the company to develop a domestic source of natural rubber for its North American tires.

Tire manufacturer Bridgestone Americas announced via press release on 29 August that it had decided to invest an additional USD42 million to commercialize the production of natural rubber made from evergreen desert shrub guayule.
