Kia Corporation to procure EV battery packs from China’s CATL
The move to source EV batteries from CATL is being seen as Kia’s attempt to expand its current portfolio of battery suppliers
South Korean automaker Kia Corporation plans to procure batteries from China’s largest battery maker Contemporary Amperex Technology Company Limited (CATL) to power electric vehicles (EVs) that will be sold in its home market, a Reuters report published on 22 June 2022 said, citing a local newspaper.
