BASF to set up new 15,000-ton battery black mass plant in Germany
The company intends to circularize its material supply chain by refining black mass produced at the site into materials that can be used to make new battery cathodes
German chemical company BASF announced via press release on 20 June that it will be building a commercial scale battery recycling black mass plant in Schwarzheide, Germany to strengthen its cathode active materials (CAM) production and recycling operations in the region.
