COVID-19: EV maker Xpeng says automakers in China may suspend production in May due to parts shortage


A surge in new COVID-19 cases in Shanghai and surrounding regions in China have led the authorities to impose strict lockdowns that have resulted in shuttering of the factories

Chinese EV maker Xpeng may have to suspend car production in May if its component suppliers based in Shanghai and surrounding areas are unable to resume work, chief executive officer He Xiaopeng has warned, according to a report published by Reuters on 14 April 2022.
