Russia-Ukraine conflict: Aluminum prices surge due to logistical issues
Steel producer Rusal recently halted shipments of alumina feedstock from Ukraine to Russia, according to Reuters
Aluminum prices surged to a record high on 1 March after western sanctions hit the Russian industry in response to Russian military operations in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. According to the metal price index of the London Metal Exchange (LME), the price for aluminum rose to USD3,604 per ton as of 2 March.
