The government aims to expand level 4 automated driving systems to more locations nationwide by 2025

According to a press release published on 23 December in the Japan Times, Japan is considering a system to screen and approve providers of fully automated driving services within limited areas, under the supervision of prefectural public safety commissions, the National Police Agency announced.
