New connectivity model facilitates tachograph infringements by roadside checks as intended by EU directives

Continental has developed Dedicated Short-Range Communications (DSRC-RP) remote sensing device in order that is said to improve control of tachograph infringements by respective authorities as well as to facilitate random roadside inspections on certain vehicles, the company announced in a press release on 12 November. The device had been tested by supervisory authorities across Europe and is now ready to be rolled out across the region.
