EIB grants ArcelorMittal USD326 million loan for decarbonization R&D

The loan is expected to help the company reach its climate goals and reduce its manufacturing carbon footprint

Luxembourg-based steelmaker ArcelorMittal announced via press release on 27 September that the European Investment Bank (EIB) backed by the Investment Plan for Europe had agreed to provide the company a USD326 million (EUR280 million) loan to fund the group’s European research and development program over the period 2021–23.
