Hybrid, battery electric vehicles to drive the demand for brushless DC motors
As vehicle manufacturers are increasingly looking to make hybrid and battery electric vehicles more energy and performance efficient as part of the global transition to zero emission vehicles (ZEVs), IHS Markit forecasts that the megatrend will drive the demand for brushless DC (BLDC) motors in automobiles.
While electric motors are used in almost every aspect in a car where motion control applications are required, direct current (DC) motors, in comparison to alternate current (AC) motors, offer more flexibility when it comes to quick start-and-stop functionality, operating at variable speeds, and consuming lesser energy.
