COVID-19 pandemic: ACEA, CLEPA, CECRA call EU for urgent support for struggling automotive sector
EU suppliers expect 20% y/y or more decline in revenue this year
The European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA) and the European Council for Motor Trades and Repairs (CECRA), which represent vehicle manufacturers, auto parts suppliers and dealers respectively, have requested the European Union (EU) for urgent support for the struggling automotive sector. “We are writing to you on behalf of the members of the associations representing the full automotive value chain in Europe. We wish to draw your attention to the urgent need for political support – both on EU as well as member state levels – in order to mitigate the effects of the major economic crisis on our sector,” these associations said in a joint letter to EU on 16 June.
