Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to debut all-new ‘capacitive steering wheel’ in the new 2020 E-Class in Summer 2020, the company said in a press release 6 May. The rim of the new steering wheel contains a two-zone sensor mat that detects whether the driver’s hands are gripping steering wheel. The touch control buttons, placed in the spokes, also work with digital signals.
