New plant will be the source of all US production for engine currently built at its Termoli plant in Italy

FCA has announced plans to invest USD400 million to repurpose its idled transmission plant in Kokomo, Indiana, US, to build engines, the company said in a press release on 5 March. The planned investment will help the plant to retain 1,000 jobs and add nearly 200 jobs to support production, bringing FCA’s total employment in Indiana to 8,300.
